I moved from the North East to the South West three, nearly four months ago now. The only form of exercise I currently do is walking the boys to and from school. Which isn’t nearly enough. I used to be a bit of a martyr to it you see. Through hail, snow, sleet and rain, no sleep, unhappy boys, we walked. It was the day I noticed the littlest (at the time 4 years) was limping as he’d clattered his leg I thought we probably should have just driven. Things will improve in the summer I’m sure, but at the moment walking is down to two times a week.
I loved Swimfit and managed to go twice a week. Ploughing up and down the local baths, which was in fact just a 10 minute walk. I now live in the country and it’s not so simple and I’m struggling to figure out how to get this all to fit in. I’m not a runner/jogger. I don’t find myself a happy runner.
I think I should try and go yoga or pilates.
I like the idea of dancing, but I think I’m a bit self conscious to do that anywhere other than a night club.
I really loved kickboxing 10 years ago. Until I sparred with the wrong fella.
So, anyone any ideas of some exercise which will tone me up, give me some social life and make me happy?
I have an image in my head of me effortlessly stretching on a deserted Devonshire beach, romantic like, with my happy toned body and mind. That’s probably not going to happen. I will learn to surf come the summer though. The world is my oyster.
